The 16.1M deal is finally done

It is indeed the first major transfer news of the season and finally we have a decision from Henry. Barca have begun their team re building efforts with a really good acquisition, that of Arsenal skipper Thierry Henry for 16.1M. Henry was presented after he cleared a medical and signed a 4 year deal with the Spanish powerhouses.

With Saviola already shown the door, Eidur Gudjhonson might also be the next out as Barca might like to reduce the fight for the starting spot for the striker between Henry and Eto.

Arsenal is definitely looking down the drain, losing their Charismatic Chairman David Dein and now their prized asset Henry, it seems to be seen if Wenger will have any fight left for any competition with a team of youngsters.

Or will Wenger jump the boat and take up the Real Madrid coaching spot that is almost sure to be open in 2 weeks time.

Though the news of Henry signing may not be new as it has been around for a couple of years but the after effects are going to be really interesting to monitor.

As you mentioned it sure would be interesting to watch the Gunners with henry leaving, who else is on their way out Wenger, will he ?

Now i wont be surprised if they go off to some godforsaken country to find some 15 year old lad and bring him to the emirates.

Hey Spartan it is great to see your comment here. I really appreciate you taking time to promote my bolg.

Well if you ask me Wenger might not leave. It might be just the tabloids hopes. But he really needs to bring in a genuine striker to replace Henry though not easy. Carlos Tevez is one that interests Arsenal. I am not sure how successful a South American will be in Arsenal as they play a very European style of one touch quick passing football and players cant keep the ball. Classic example is Julio Baptista who failed there.

Interesting that you brought the point of Arsenal scouting some young players. Well cant say they do a bad job at it. Gael Clichy, Hleb, Fabregas, Aboeu to name a few who have really stepped up.

If you ask me Strikers are not the only concern for Wenger so he would be better off to jump the boat considering the limited money he would have after Arsenal's huge debt in building the new Emirates stadium.
